Description

A welfare check is an arranged visit to a service users home to ensure their welfare and comfort which can last from half an hour to as long as the service user requires (this can be agreed during the initial meeting)

During these visits the Personal Assistant will spend some time talking with a service user ensuring that their current needs are being met as far as possible. They will often:
• Talk to the service user to make sure they are comfortable and happy
• Ensure they are taking their medication regularly
• Discuss their health and wellbeing to make sure it is stable
• Undertake or support with any small house jobs, this could include putting some washing on to posting a letter for the service user
• Ensure they have eaten/ have something to eat and have plenty to drink
These visits can offer reassurance and support if for example your Carer or relative is on holiday.
