Description
Service
This service is for adults that are approaching the final stages of their life. At end of life, an assessment will be carried out to enable us to meet the individuals final wishes and needs with dignity and provide quality end of life care. Residents are encouraged to formulate their own care plan, so their choices of care can be respected. The individual will be supported by and we will work in partnership with their GP, District Nurse Team and other health professionals, such as the Macmillan Team. Staff are trained and are able to deliver personalised care and support individuals to die in comfort with dignity and respect. They also have their psychological and spiritual needs met. The needs of the individuals family and friends are also supported at what can be a difficult and emotional time. We ensure that the care people receive at Lindum Court, at the end of life, is compassionate, appropriate and that they are given a choice as to how they are cared for.
How we care for you
The home places the rights of its residents at the forefront of its philosophy of care and recognises that the number of years lived does not prescribe how a person of a given age should live, behave, think and feel. The home values your life experience and knowledge and works in partnership with you to plan your care. The home offers assurance that you are treated as an individual with courtesy and respect, with protection of your privacy and dignity to enable you to gain and maintain as much independence as possible. We value the role which relatives and friends may play in your care and will provide support for them when needed. We aim to provide the very best quality care by consistently exceeding the National Minimum Standards of Care.
Our Staff
Lindum Court is staffed with the requirements of Regulation 18 of Care Homes Regulations 2001 and the staffing requirements have been approved by the Care Quality Commission. Training is taken very seriously at Lindum Court Residential Care Home. Continuous training and assessment is undertaken throughout the year, both internally and externally, that covers essential and non-essential training. All staff have or are working towards their NVQ 2 & 3.
