Description
Adelaide House is registered for both residential and nursing care. Our residents are generally over sixty years of age, however we do accept younger residents if we can meet their nursing and care needs. In addition we provide care to married couples, or partners, who require long term nursing care because they can no longer live at home.
Medical Care
Medical care is provided by the local General Practitioner of the resident’s choice. The home has retainer GPs who visit weekly.
Referrals to specialist services and facilities can be arranged through the GP. Every six weeks we are visited by a chiropodist and other services can be arranged by appointment.
Activities
We employ a dedicated Activities Co-ordinator who ensures that all our residents are able, should they wish, to participate in a wide range of enjoyable and stimulating activities. Some activities are undertaken in groups whilst some residents prefer a one to one session.
A selection of weekday activities can be seen below:
• Quizzes
• Crosswords
• Flower arranging
• Scrabble, word games
• Pottery painting
• Arts and Crafts
