Description

Francis Court is separated into three distinct floors to help ensure that all residents can enjoy private time when they need it, but are also surrounded by neighbours with similar needs.

Each floor contains multiple seated lounge areas where residents can relax and socialise. Each lounge within the care home is set out to accommodate our resident’s different moods and needs – we have quiet lounges for peace and relaxation, general lounges for socialising with visitors and fellow residents and a double lounge on each floor for entertainment.

Our rooms are fitted with large bay windows to let in plenty of light, with beautiful views of our gardens and the local greenery.

The dining experience
Meal times at Francis Court are about a lot more than just eating together - they’re valuable opportunities for people to come together and enjoy one another’s company. Each day, our in-house chef and his team use fresh, local produce to prepare tasty, nutritious, home-cooked food. Menus are changed regularly with residents being encouraged to chat through their likes and dislikes directly with our chef.

We cater for individual dietary needs and, for those special occasions, we’re delighted to arrange something more personal. Residents are also free to help themselves to drinks and snacks whenever they want them.

The Garden
Copthorne is a scenic place and our extensive garden is no different. It doesn't just provide a beautiful view, but also provides a secure, picturesque space where our residents are welcome to enjoy flower arranging or simply relax in the sunshine.  We also have a weekly Gardening Club on Thursday for our keen gardeners.

We have regular visits from two Shetland ponies and a weekly visit from a black Labrador therapy dog called Yasmine. Home manager, Nicola sometimes brings her dog to work with her – a Miniature Dachshund called Zuko.

Events and activities
Keeping active in mind, body and spirit is an essential part of our wellbeing at any age. At Francis Court we ensure that there are plentiful opportunities for entertainment and personal development. We employ a dedicated activities co-ordinator to organise a range of activities to suit all residents, whatever their preferences.

Activities on offer include:
◾ Arts and crafts
◾ Baking
◾ Painting
◾ Special interest clubs and classes
◾ Discussion groups
◾ Movement and music
◾ Special performances from professional entertainers

All activities at the care home are completely optional – residents can get as involved as they like without feeling pressured. We’re happy to help residents to follow their unique interests where we can, so if you have anything you’d like to become involved in – from learning a new skill to putting a social group together –our activities co-ordinator will welcome your feedback.

Catering for your spiritual needs
Francis Court is a non-denominational residence and aims to provide facilities to meet the spiritual needs of all our residents. The Deacon of our local Church of England parish in Copthorne holds fortnightly services at the care home for residents and we have Catholic, Methodist and Baptist churches locally. Two Franciscan Friars also visit every fortnight offering conversation, guidance and counsel to any residents who require it.

We also offer discussion groups for residents of a more philosophical background, and are happy to talk to church and community leaders from other denominations to ensure residents have everything they need to observe their individual faith.

Out and about
We encourage residents to treat Francis Court as they would their own home. If you wish to pop down to the shops, go for a day out with your family, explore more of Copthorne, or visit a friend for coffee, you are more than welcome to do so at any time.

Please note the price shown is a typical cost for this service and is dependent on your individual needs and requirements. Once these have been discussed we can confirm a price.
