Counselling
We have qualified, person centred trained counsellors in our service across both North and South Kirklees.
Therapeutic massage
Part of our ‘embodied approach’ to mental health and well being is giving attention to nurturing our bodies. We have a skilled masseur with therapeutic skills and knowledge.
Reiki
We have a licensed Reiki consultant. Reiki therapy aims to restore the energy balance by stimulating the body’s natural healing response and helping it to overcome physical, mental and emotional problems.
Music group
Music can help improve your emotional and mental well-being, build your confidence and connect you with others. Whether you have any musical experience or not this group or individual music
therapy sessions might be for you.
Art therapy
Art therapy offers the opportunity for expression and
communication to effect change and growth on a personal level through the use of art materials in a safe and facilitating environment.
C4 Confidence
A six week informal course to help build personal confidence and self esteem. It includes positive thinking exercises that really work!
Relationship group
This group explores patterns and cycles in relationships and asks why are they so difficult at times.
Neuro linguistic programming
NLP helps you to find out more about yourself and others, learn NLP strategies and techniques, discover and clarify what you want to achieve, be supported to find your own solutions and be held
responsible and accountable for your actions.
Mood mapping
Moods are an internal measure of how we are. By learning to be mindful of our ever changing moods we can learn to develop strategies to support how we express our moods.
Eating distress group
A support group with individual support available for anyone who experiences distress through eating, including bulimia, anorexia, weight concerns, addictions to food, revulsion to food etc.
Relaxation

Drop-in
The drop-in offers individual support around mental health and well being, access to information and social contact to reduce isolation.
Sew good
A sewing group in which we revamp – make – exchange – mend – ‘upcycle’ – and enjoy the pleasure of cloth and clothes. Come and
share and learn new skills.
Walking women
Walking women meet every fortnight and explore different walks in and around Kirklees.

Feminist reading group
Reading and sharing can be very satisfying. Each month we read a book and come together to share our thoughts about books, read and discuss.
Knitting group
Knitting is a great way to meet people, share experiences, help with relaxation, stress relief and creativity.
Mothers apart
A supportive group welcoming any mothers living apart from their children -– whatever the reason. We recognise the powerlessness experienced by many women and the stigma attached to living
apart from your child.
Sisters shhhOUT!
If you identify as lesbian, bisexual or are questioning your sexuality, feel free to come along. The Sister shhhOUT project focuses on well-being issues, increasing awareness and addressing some of the health equalities experienced by lesbian and bisexual women by providing information, advice, social opportunities and access to resources through group support space. Sister shhhOUT meets in a welcoming, safe and supportive women-only space.
Women in exile and new migrant women
A specialist service for new migrant women, women seeking asylum, refugees and children. Support and information in a safe, women-only, child friendly space, including clothes exchange and parental support. We also offer specialist therapeutic work for women affected by war, rape and torture.
Evolve – Calderdale and Kirklees
Evolve offers a wide range of services to vulnerable women at risk of offending and those women already linked to the criminal justice system via Probation, Police or the courts. We aim to divert women from custody, reduce women’s re-offending and support women in their own communities.
Athena project
Based in HMP New Hall, Wakefield, Athena offers a dedicated domestic and sexual violence support service to all women, no matter which part of the
country they are returning to. Free, non-judgemental, safe and confidential.
Women of the World – WOW
AtWomenCentre we embrace the idea of ‘personalised services’. Our co-creation group enables women who use WomenCentre to have a say in shaping the services we deliver.
